AMT is a space for protection, construction and recognition of trans memory. María Belén Correa y Claudia Pía Baudracco —both trans activists— longed for a place where to gather together with others, their memories and images; as a consequence AMT started as a virtual space, where anecdotes, photos and testimonies where shared. After two years, together with visual artist Cecilia Estalles, the conservation and protection process of more than 10 000 documents began. These go from beginnings of the 20th century up to the nineties, including photographic memories, films and several museographic pieces, such as passports, letters, notes, magazine articles and personal diaries. At present, AMT is a reference point in documentation of collective trans memory adhered to the fight against transphobia, actively collaborating with social and professional insertion of trans people. AMT is a cooperative space where artists, activists, journalists, curators, art critics and investigators, among others, participate and create new projects in the search of these new diverse languages.
